Steterly collects different categories of data to operate and maintain the auditing platform:

• Account Data: Your name, email address, password hash, and preferences provided during sign-up or profile update.
• Payment Data: All financial payments are securely processed by Stripe or other compliant payment gateways. Steterly never touches or stores your raw credit card numbers.
• Audited Site Data: Website URLs, custom site dictionaries, module configuration rules, and the scanned text extracted by our crawler.
• Technical Logs: Standard request logs including IP addresses, user agent details, referring URLs, and browser types to aid in rate limiting and threat prevention.

2. How We Use and Process Data

Your information is handled strictly for service delivery, system maintenance, and user communications:

• Operating website audits and providing broken link, dead image, typo, and meta tag status reports.
• Notifying you via email when scheduled audits complete or subscription billing issues occur.
• Monitoring system load, preventing platform abuse, and protecting target host firewall limits.
• Personalizing and saving your glossary definitions in your private custom dictionaries.

3. AI Analysis & Third-Party Integrations

To detect complex grammatical oversights and structural spelling errors, Steterly passes chunks of text extracted from your public HTML pages to trusted AI API partners (such as OpenAI and Google Gemini).

We maintain strict enterprise-tier integration agreements ensuring that:

• No user data passed to these APIs is stored or utilized by our AI partners for the purposes of training their public LLM systems.
• All data sent via these APIs is encrypted in transit and deleted immediately after the proofreading analysis completes.
• Your private site dictionaries and ignore rules are applied locally and never shared with any third party.

4. Data Storage, Security, & Retention Policies

We apply strict security measures to keep your data safe. All platform operations utilize secure cloud infrastructure, encrypted databases, and industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols for all transmissions.

We retain account information for as long as your account remains active. If you choose to delete your account, all personal data, site URLs, ignore rules, dictionary entries, and historical scan audits are permanently and irreversibly purged from our active databases. Daily backup archives are automatically rotated and completely overwritten within 30 days.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Steterly does not utilize behavioral tracking cookies, cross-site profiling tags, or invasive third-party analytics pixels.

We use only first-party, strictly functional cookies necessary to authenticate your account session, maintain active logins, secure forms against CSRF attacks, and remember basic UI theme preferences (such as light/dark mode settings).
